# NextUp vs Cinéphile

The clearest difference is update cadence: Cinéphile at every 5 days against NextUp's every 2 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NextUp sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Cinéphile sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NextUp ships an update every 2 months, Cinéphile every 5 days. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
