# Scran vs Shoyu

The clearest difference is update cadence: Scran at every 9 days against Shoyu's every 3 weeks. Scran also leads on iOS requirement (16.4 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scran sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Shoyu sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scran ships an update every 9 days, Shoyu every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
