# CountFree vs Countdown Widget

The clearest difference is update cadence: Countdown Widget at weekly against CountFree's every 2 months. Countdown Widget also leads on ratings volume (20 vs 1) and iOS requirement (18.0 vs 26.0). CountFree's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CountFree sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Countdown Widget sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CountFree holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown Widget has 20 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CountFree ships an update every 2 months, Countdown Widget weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
