# CountFree vs Countdown Events

The clearest difference is update cadence: Countdown Events at every 10 days against CountFree's every 2 months. Countdown Events also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and iOS requirement (18.5 vs 26.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CountFree sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Countdown Events sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Countdown Events holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 11 and 9 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of CountFree's written reviews are positive against 75% of Countdown Events's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CountFree ships an update every 2 months, Countdown Events every 10 days. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
