# Birthday Schedule vs Etched

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Birthday Schedule at none against Etched's 1. Etched's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.2). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Etched sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Birthday Schedule asks for nothing beyond the download.

Birthday Schedule ships an update every 3 weeks, Etched every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
