# LoudReader vs Morph Books

LoudReader and Morph Books both sit at 4.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 75% of Morph Books's written reviews are positive against 33% of LoudReader's. Morph Books also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs weekly) and ratings volume (9 vs 1). LoudReader's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LoudReader sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Morph Books sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.0 for LoudReader against 4.1 for Morph Books. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Morph Books has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 33% of LoudReader's written reviews are positive against 75% of Morph Books's.

LoudReader ships an update weekly, Morph Books every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 15, 2026.
