# RotStop vs BrainFree

The clearest difference is monetization model: BrainFree at free with in-app purchases against RotStop's subscription. BrainFree also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). RotStop's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RotStop sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and BrainFree sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BrainFree holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9 and 3 respectively.

RotStop ships an update every 2 days, BrainFree every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
