# Last Extract vs Letter Laboratory

The clearest difference is ads: Letter Laboratory at none against Last Extract's shown. Letter Laboratory also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Last Extract's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.2). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Last Extract sells 17 one-off in-app purchases and Letter Laboratory sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Last Extract ships an update every 5 days, Letter Laboratory every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
