# DeVPN vs Texly

The clearest difference is ads: DeVPN at none against Texly's shown. DeVPN also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). Texly's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DeVPN sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Texly sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for DeVPN against 5.0 for Texly. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DeVPN has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

DeVPN ships an update every 5 weeks, Texly every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
