# BBnotes vs Translate Live

The clearest difference is rating: Translate Live at 5.0 against BBnotes's 4.4. BBnotes's advantage is iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BBnotes sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and Translate Live sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Translate Live holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9 and 11 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of BBnotes's written reviews are positive against 97% of Translate Live's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
