# Engineering Formulas vs FE Exam Prep

The clearest difference is update cadence: Engineering Formulas at every 2 months against FE Exam Prep's every 5 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Engineering Formulas sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and FE Exam Prep sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Engineering Formulas ships an update every 2 months, FE Exam Prep every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
