# JesusChat™ vs Prayer Lock

The clearest difference is monetization model: JesusChat™ at free with in-app purchases against Prayer Lock's subscription. JesusChat™ also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 6 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Prayer Lock's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (42 vs 5). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. JesusChat™ sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per month and Prayer Lock sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

JesusChat™ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Prayer Lock has 42 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

JesusChat™ ships an update every 3 days, Prayer Lock every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
