# Bookmark'd vs SlowRead

Bookmark'd and SlowRead both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 88% of Bookmark'd's written reviews are positive against 26% of SlowRead's. Bookmark'd also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). SlowRead's advantage is ratings volume (793 vs 13) and update cadence (every 3 days vs weekly). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bookmark'd sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and SlowRead sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $8.39 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SlowRead holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SlowRead has 793 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Bookmark'd's written reviews are positive against 26% of SlowRead's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bookmark'd ships an update weekly, SlowRead every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
