# Mirra Note vs Private Journal

The clearest difference is ads: Private Journal at none against Mirra Note's shown. Private Journal also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). Mirra Note's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (15.0.0 vs 26.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mirra Note sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Private Journal sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mirra Note holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 36 and 23 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Mirra Note's written reviews are positive against 100% of Private Journal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mirra Note ships an update fortnightly, Private Journal every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
