# Focustown vs marks

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: marks at none against Focustown's 10. marks also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (88% vs 77%). Focustown's advantage is ratings volume (9.3K vs 91) and update cadence (daily vs every 3 days). On price, rating, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focustown sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. marks asks for nothing beyond the download.

Focustown holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focustown has 9.3K ratings behind it against 91, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Focustown's written reviews are positive against 88% of marks's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Focustown ships an update daily, marks every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
