# MudForge vs SubscriptionCat

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MudForge at 67% against SubscriptionCat's 0%. MudForge also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (9 vs 1). SubscriptionCat's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 3 days vs fortnightly). On price, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SubscriptionCat sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. MudForge asks for nothing beyond the download.

SubscriptionCat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MudForge has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of MudForge's written reviews are positive against 0% of SubscriptionCat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MudForge ships an update fortnightly, SubscriptionCat every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
