# Billy Go Trucking vs Permit Path

The clearest difference is monetization model: Permit Path at free with in-app purchases against Billy Go Trucking's subscription. Permit Path also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 4 weeks) and ratings volume (37 vs 1). Billy Go Trucking's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Billy Go Trucking sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $29.99 per month and Permit Path sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Billy Go Trucking holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Permit Path has 37 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Billy Go Trucking ships an update every 4 weeks, Permit Path every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
