# ScanLan vs Tech VPN Pro

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ScanLan at 100% against Tech VPN Pro's 40%. ScanLan also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.4). Tech VPN Pro's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 months) and monetization model (freemium vs paid). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ScanLan holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tech VPN Pro has 18 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
