# Steppers vs StepMax

The clearest difference is rating: StepMax at 5.0 against Steppers's 4.8. Steppers's advantage is ratings volume (29 vs 4) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 26.2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Steppers sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and StepMax sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StepMax holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Steppers has 29 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Steppers ships an update every 5 days, StepMax weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
