# Custom Widgets vs The Life Timeline

The clearest difference is update cadence: Custom Widgets at every 2 days against The Life Timeline's every 10 days. The Life Timeline's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Custom Widgets sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and The Life Timeline sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Custom Widgets ships an update every 2 days, The Life Timeline every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
