# Speakeasy vs Hyperpolyglot

Speakeasy and Hyperpolyglot both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 75% of Speakeasy's written reviews are positive against 50% of Hyperpolyglot's. Hyperpolyglot's advantage is ratings volume (92 vs 6). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speakeasy sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month and Hyperpolyglot sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Speakeasy against 4.6 for Hyperpolyglot. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hyperpolyglot has 92 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 75% of Speakeasy's written reviews are positive against 50% of Hyperpolyglot's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
