# *slash vs Nook

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: *slash at none against Nook's 1. Nook's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nook sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. *slash asks for nothing beyond the download.

*slash ships an update fortnightly, Nook weekly. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
