# CDL PermitPro vs Smart CDL

The clearest difference is update cadence: Smart CDL at every 5 days against CDL PermitPro's monthly. CDL PermitPro's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CDL PermitPro sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Smart CDL sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for CDL PermitPro against 5.0 for Smart CDL. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CDL PermitPro has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CDL PermitPro ships an update monthly, Smart CDL every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
