# Screen Time Control vs TEMPER

The clearest difference is rating: Screen Time Control at 5.0 against TEMPER's 4.3. Screen Time Control also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). TEMPER's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (9 vs 2). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Time Control sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and TEMPER sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Screen Time Control holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 9 respectively.

Screen Time Control ships an update every 3 days, TEMPER every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
