# Bigbert vs GymPal

The clearest difference is monetization model: Bigbert at free with in-app purchases against GymPal's subscription. Bigbert also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). GymPal's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks) and ratings volume (13 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bigbert sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and GymPal sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bigbert holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 13 respectively.

Bigbert ships an update every 2 weeks, GymPal every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
