# StepMelon vs Stark

The clearest difference is rating: Stark at 5.0 against StepMelon's 4.0. StepMelon's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 weeks) and ratings volume (4 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StepMelon sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Stark sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Stark holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 1 respectively.

StepMelon ships an update every 6 days, Stark every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
