# DoomFree vs Screen Time Control

The clearest difference is monetization model: Screen Time Control at freemium against DoomFree's subscription. DoomFree's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 9 days). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DoomFree sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Screen Time Control sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for DoomFree against 4.5 for Screen Time Control. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9 and 20 respectively.

DoomFree ships an update every 4 days, Screen Time Control every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
