# DoomFree vs BlockRot

DoomFree and BlockRot both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of DoomFree's written reviews are positive against 62% of BlockRot's. BlockRot's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (387 vs 9). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DoomFree sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and BlockRot sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for DoomFree against 4.7 for BlockRot. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BlockRot has 387 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of DoomFree's written reviews are positive against 62% of BlockRot's.

DoomFree ships an update every 4 days, BlockRot daily. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
