# Read Rocket vs Codex Books

The clearest difference is update cadence: Codex Books at every 3 days against Read Rocket's every 3 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Read Rocket sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Codex Books sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Read Rocket ships an update every 3 weeks, Codex Books every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
