# Astropad Workbench vs Tearoff

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Astropad Workbench at none against Tearoff's 3. Astropad Workbench also leads on ratings volume (201 vs 2). Tearoff's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tearoff sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Astropad Workbench asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tearoff holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Astropad Workbench has 201 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Astropad Workbench ships an update every 3 weeks, Tearoff every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
