# Compass Retro vs Compass

The clearest difference is ads: Compass at none against Compass Retro's shown. Compass Retro's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 6 weeks) and device support (3 vs 1). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Compass Retro sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Compass sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Compass Retro ships an update every 8 days, Compass every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
