# Iris vs Smart IPTV Pro Player

The clearest difference is monetization model: Iris at free against Smart IPTV Pro Player's free with in-app purchases. Iris also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). Smart IPTV Pro Player's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Iris sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Smart IPTV Pro Player sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Iris against 5.0 for Smart IPTV Pro Player. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 1 respectively.

Iris ships an update fortnightly, Smart IPTV Pro Player every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
