# Iris vs StreamSG

The clearest difference is monetization model: Iris at free against StreamSG's freemium. Iris also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Iris sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and StreamSG sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Iris against 5.0 for StreamSG. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 2 respectively.

Iris ships an update fortnightly, StreamSG every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
