# FlipBook vs Scratchcam

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Scratchcam at 100% against FlipBook's 33%. Scratchcam also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly). FlipBook's advantage is ratings volume (9 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlipBook sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Scratchcam sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scratchcam holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlipBook has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of FlipBook's written reviews are positive against 100% of Scratchcam's.

FlipBook ships an update monthly, Scratchcam every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
