# ThyWord vs Begin

The clearest difference is ads: Begin at none against ThyWord's shown. ThyWord's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.4) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ThyWord sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Begin sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ThyWord holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 104 and 24 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

ThyWord ships an update every 4 days, Begin every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
