# Capsule vs Motivation

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Motivation at 100% against Capsule's 14%. Motivation also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.1) and monetization model (free vs freemium). Capsule's advantage is ratings volume (11 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Capsule sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Motivation sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Motivation holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Capsule has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 14% of Capsule's written reviews are positive against 100% of Motivation's.

Capsule ships an update every 3 weeks, Motivation every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
