# Toonly vs ComicPad

Toonly and ComicPad both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of ComicPad's written reviews are positive against 55% of Toonly's. ComicPad also leads on ads (none vs shown). Toonly's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (113 vs 2). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Toonly sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and ComicPad sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Toonly holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Toonly has 113 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Toonly's written reviews are positive against 100% of ComicPad's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Toonly ships an update every 5 days, ComicPad every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
