# Text Message Export vs Intention

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Intention at 100% against Text Message Export's 10%. Intention also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Text Message Export's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (151 vs 13). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Message Export sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Intention sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Intention holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Message Export has 151 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 10% of Text Message Export's written reviews are positive against 100% of Intention's.

Text Message Export ships an update every 10 days, Intention every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
