# CompTIA Cert Prep vs CertNinja

The clearest difference is update cadence: CertNinja at every 5 days against CompTIA Cert Prep's every 2 months. CompTIA Cert Prep's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CompTIA Cert Prep sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and CertNinja sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for CompTIA Cert Prep against 5.0 for CertNinja. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CompTIA Cert Prep has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CompTIA Cert Prep ships an update every 2 months, CertNinja every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
