# Diary Lock vs Bodcat Notebook

The clearest difference is rating: Bodcat Notebook at 5.0 against Diary Lock's 3.8. Bodcat Notebook also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). Diary Lock's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Diary Lock sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Bodcat Notebook sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $29.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bodcat Notebook holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Diary Lock has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Diary Lock ships an update every 2 weeks, Bodcat Notebook every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
