# BL Dramas vs ReadShort

The clearest difference is monetization model: ReadShort at free with in-app purchases against BL Dramas's subscription. ReadShort also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). BL Dramas's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (394 vs 73). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BL Dramas sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and ReadShort sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BL Dramas holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BL Dramas has 394 ratings behind it against 73, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of BL Dramas's written reviews are positive against 27% of ReadShort's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BL Dramas ships an update every 10 days, ReadShort every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
