# Kaivoo vs DoomShield

The clearest difference is rating: DoomShield at 5.0 against Kaivoo's 4.1. DoomShield also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). Kaivoo's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (15 vs 2). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Kaivoo sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and DoomShield sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DoomShield holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kaivoo has 15 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Kaivoo ships an update fortnightly, DoomShield every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
