# True Velocity vs Speedometer

The clearest difference is update cadence: True Velocity at every 9 days against Speedometer's every 3 weeks. Speedometer's advantage is iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. True Velocity sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Speedometer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

True Velocity ships an update every 9 days, Speedometer every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
