# FastingPals vs Trace Elements

The clearest difference is monetization model: FastingPals at free against Trace Elements's freemium. FastingPals also leads on ratings volume (9 vs 1). Trace Elements's advantage is iOS requirement (15.5 vs 17.6). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FastingPals sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Trace Elements sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for FastingPals against 5.0 for Trace Elements. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FastingPals has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

FastingPals ships an update every 10 days, Trace Elements weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
