# Text Message Export vs DayMarked

The clearest difference is rating: DayMarked at 5.0 against Text Message Export's 2.7. DayMarked also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Text Message Export's advantage is ratings volume (25 vs 1) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Message Export sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and DayMarked sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DayMarked holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Message Export has 25 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Text Message Export ships an update every 2 months, DayMarked weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
