# SafeKey vs PassNote

The clearest difference is ads: PassNote at none against SafeKey's shown. PassNote also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months). SafeKey's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SafeKey sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and PassNote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SafeKey ships an update every 4 months, PassNote every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
