# Ember vs EPUB Reader

The clearest difference is update cadence: EPUB Reader at every 3 days against Ember's fortnightly. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ember sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $29.99 per year and EPUB Reader sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ember ships an update fortnightly, EPUB Reader every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
