# DC View vs Retro

The clearest difference is ads: Retro at none against DC View's shown. DC View's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DC View sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month and Retro sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DC View ships an update every 4 days, Retro every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
