# FocusCat vs Skrive

The clearest difference is ads: Skrive at none against FocusCat's shown. FocusCat's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks) and monetization model (ad-supported vs freemium). On price, rating, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FocusCat sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Skrive sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
