# Old Greg's Tavern vs DM ENGINE

The clearest difference is rating: Old Greg's Tavern at 4.8 against DM ENGINE's 3.5. Old Greg's Tavern also leads on ratings volume (4.7K vs 4) and chart position (#120 vs unranked). DM ENGINE's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Old Greg's Tavern sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. DM ENGINE asks for nothing beyond the download.

Old Greg's Tavern holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Old Greg's Tavern has 4.7K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Old Greg's Tavern's written reviews are positive against 50% of DM ENGINE's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Old Greg's Tavern ships an update every 2 weeks, DM ENGINE every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
